Why People Take Pictures

This is not the first time I'm shooting this amazing young woman Uliana. Every time I shoot her I enjoy the time spent with he, a soft spoken petite girl with a bright witty personality. This time we decided to do something special just for her. Since her last shoot was at a park, we decided to go with the urban type. I offered to go to Pasadena. Pasadena is a small European-like oasis in the middle of typical one-story buildings and palm trees cities in Los Angeles. The word Pasadena literally means "valley" in the Ojibwa (Chippewa) Indian language, but it has been interpreted to mean "Crown of the Valley". Uliana and I stopped by the Pasadena City Hall. It was a working day but city workers didn't pay much attention to us because we were not probably first people taking pictures there.

I'd love to quote Uliana when she posted one of these pictures in social media sites, "Why people take their pictures? They do it to stop the moment for a second, to remember themselves the way they were many years or a moment ago. To remember themselves young, bright and beautiful. So they can look at themselves later and smile." I couldn't say it better.
